From shopping specials to tree lightings and everything in between, the area around your 1500 Locust apartment is alight with holiday cheer this month! Once you’ve pounded the pavement for all the exciting events on Main Street in Manayunk, you can also check out what Roxborough has going on in December, as the neighborhood is organizing a full month of festive activities.

Every Saturday this month, you can find a different holiday-themed event along the bustling Ridge Avenue with the Happy Holidays from Roxborough series. The events are designed for visitors of all ages—so don your favorite ugly sweater and plan to spend a day visiting our favorite next-door neighbors! Here’s a taste of what they have lined up:

Dec. 7: The UPS Store, less than a mile from your The Isle apartment, will welcome Old St. Nick (along with a costumed character from “Frozen”) for professional portraits from 1-4 p.m. There’s no age limit for the pics so, while you may want to bring along the little ones in your life, if you and your sweetheart want the perfect photo for your holiday cards this year, this is the place to do it!

Dec. 14: From 6-9 p.m., put your holiday knowledge to the test at this 21-plus Holiday Tidings & Trivia event at the Board Game Café, one mile from your The Isle apartment. Bring along your adult beverage of choice and enjoy complimentary snacks and compete for some exciting (holiday-themed!) prizes. Best yet, all proceeds from this event support the Roxborough Home for Women.

Dec. 21: The series wraps up with a brunch at Tavern on Ridge, less than a mile from your The Isle apartment, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Special themed cocktails and festive food will be overflowing in this family-friendly event.
