Luckily, there are lots of ways to do that near your The Isle apartment: rooftop bars, summer festivals and plenty of opportunities for outdoor exercise. If you’re trying to keep it simple (and free), break out the picnic basket and grab some grub, a blanket and your favorite people and head to your nearest green space for a day of soaking up rays with some good food and company.

If you don’t want to break a sweat walking to the park, hit up Pretzel Park, just two blocks from your The Isle apartment. The park is situated at the top of a hill overlooking the neighborhood, so you can enjoy impressive views of the area all while getting in some quality R&R. The park features a large open grassy area, perfect for plopping down with some grub on a summer afternoon. However, it’s also ringed with plenty of towering trees that can provide a shady respite if the sun gets too strong.

Pretzel Park is also a popular gathering spot for the local community, so chances are, you may run into a special event on your visit. Every Saturday, you can catch the popular Pretzel Park Farmers Market—grab some fresh produce and other goodies for a picnic outing that couldn’t be any fresher! If you have little ones in your life, the park recently opened a new playground, so you can kick back and relax while they romp and roll on the new equipment. This summer, the park is also hosting live-music events, Parks on Tap traveling beer garden, live performances of “ShakesBEER” (the famed playwright’s works with a sudsy angle) and even a dog race to raise funds for a local animal-welfare society.

So lather on the sunscreen, grab your shades and head to Pretzel Park to chill out before summer heads out of Manayunk!
