Memorial Day Weekend is the unofficial opening to summer!

Laurel Hill Cemetery: The historic cemetery, 2.5 miles from your The Isle apartment, was the site of Philadelphia’s very first official observance of Memorial Day, in 1868, so it’s only fitting that you pay it a visit this year. Organizers will lay a wreath at the grave of General George Gordon Meade, a Civil War hero, and honor all veterans. Following the ceremony, noon on May 27, guests are invited to enjoy complimentary beer and refreshments.

Explore the Schuylkill: Take advantage of Manyunk’s riverside location to have a wet and wild Memorial Day Weekend! Throw on your bathing suit and head to Hidden River Outfitters, three blocks from your The Isle apartment, for a guided kayak tour, including lunch at Manayunk Brewing Company.

Support Local Biz: Manayunk may be in a big city, but it feels like a small town, with its Main Street full of family-owned shops and restaurants. Spend the weekend patronizing local businesses (and score some great holiday sales!).
