Relax, Unwind, and Explore a New Hobby at the Philadelphia Woodworks

Next time you find yourself with a free afternoon, we know just the neighborhood spot that you should visit. Philadelphia Woodworks offers all kinds of cool wood related activities and it’s just a 7-minute drive from The Isle. A little different than our usual bar and restaurant recommendations, this wood shop and woodworking studio provides a different way to relax or fight boredom, while also helping you develop a skill. Perfect for all experience levels, there is something everyone can enjoy. This includes classes, one-on-one instruction, membership, parties, free demos, and more.

Philadelphia Woodworks was founded in 2011 by Michael Vogel when he discovered there weren’t any shops in the area where he could practice his woodworking after he graduated from architecture school. He created a space where members could pay a budget-friendly monthly fee to use the shop and all of its high-end technical equipment whenever they want. Philadelphia Woodworks is also a hub for education, with an extensive list of classes available to both members and non-members, as well many private lesson opportunities too. There are even classes for kids, so you can bring the whole family.

A small, helpful, and personal staff provide the perfect conditions for a welcoming, stress-free experience. The woodshop is open every day of the week except Monday and even has a lumber yard right on site. Some other good and services offered by Philadelphia Woodworks include custom millwork and fabrication, women’s only workshops, private parties and corporate events, and even high-end kitchenwares. Check out the calendar on their website to see all the upcoming classes and programs you might enjoy. Have fun crafting and creating!
