Cure Your Cabin Fever at This Local Park

The last few months may have had you spending lots of time on the couch of your The Isle apartment, but with spring soon turning into summer, there’s no better time to get out and about and enjoy sunshine in the city. While getting back to normal is going to take some time, a simple stroll in the park can still be a safe and healthy way to get a change of scenery and some exercise. And with all of the green spaces in Philadelphia, there are plenty of spots to choose from.

One of the best places to take in the greenery is at Wissahickon Valley Park. The sprawling park, the city’s second largest, is large enough that you can explore all of its twists and turns while still respecting social distance. While park facilities and restrooms are closed, the park has remained open throughout the past few weeks and has become a haven for locals who are looking for a quiet and refreshing escape from the serious issues going on in the world. It’s important, especially in these times, to work out both your body and mind and, with all of the natural beauty that abounds at Wissahickon Valley Park, that’s easy to do.

Located just one mile from your The Isle apartment, Wissahickon Valley Park features nearly 2,000 acres—filled with spacious pathways and trails, forests and meadows. Walk, run, hike, bike or bring along the dog for some exercise and bonding time. Keep your eyes open for wildlife, as more than 200 species of birds call the park home, along with foxes, turtles, deer and much more.

So if you’re looking for a change of scenery to clear your mind and reenergize yourself, lace up the sneakers, leash up the dog and head out of your The Isle apartment to get some fresh air, stretch your legs and get a taste of springtime in the city.
