Put a New Spin on Date Night this Valentine’s Day

Chocolate, flowers and a movie are all staples of Valentine’s Day. But with so much exciting entertainment abounding right near your The Isle apartment, why not change up your Valentine’s Day date this year?

While there are plenty of hot spots for dinner or drinks in Manayunk, at hands-on cooking experience Let’s Cultivate Food, you can team up with your special someone to create your own dish. The cooking studio welcomes chefs of all abilities, with no experience necessary—all you need to bring is your appetite and get ready to see your culinary creativity flow!

Throughout the month, Let’s Cultivate Food, located six blocks from your The Isle apartment, is hosting special cooking classes perfect for a fun night out with your sweetheart. On Feb. 7, 15 or 20, book a pair of tickets to LCF’s Date Night series. These special sessions start with couples handcrafting a cocktail at the “shake and muddle” station, where they can pick up tricks of the trade from trained bartenders. Next, it’s on to the 12-foot charcuterie table, which is packed full of more than 20 items. Students are invited to “torch their own” flaming dessert, all while enjoying live music. There will also be date night-themed games, with prizes and gifts for all attendees.

If you’d prefer to opt for one of the studio’s regular classes, the Feb. 8 menu features papaya salad, firecracker shrimp and pineapple skewers, drunken Thai noodles and crème Brule cheesecake. Both Feb. 13 and 14 are focused on sushi, as students make their own miso soup, pickle ginger and create and roll their own sushi rolls, all while sipping sake.

LCF also offers in-home cooking classes, with a minimum of four attendees. So if you want to round up another couple or two and invite the expert chefs from LCF to your The Isle apartment, you can really impress your special someone with a home-cooked meal—cooked right in your home!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
