Cookie Month Returns to Manayunk

If the Girl Scout cookie stock in the pantry at your The Isle apartment is starting to run out, have no fear! All month long, bars and restaurants throughout Manayunk will celebrate all things Girl Scout cookies—with special cookie-themed food and drink menus, events and, of course, plenty of opportunity to restock your cookie collection!

The annual Cookie Month festivities run Feb. 1-29 (with an extra day of fun for Leap Year!). Every Saturday, local Scouts will set up shop along Main Street from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., with a morning shift at one business and an afternoon pop-up at another (so no matter where you’re doing your shopping or socializing, you’ll likely run into these budding entrepreneurs!). Clear your calendar for Feb. 15 for a day full of cookie-focused activities, including a 3.5 mile Cookie Run with Philadelphia Runner. The event will kick off at 9 a.m. from the running shop, just two blocks from your The Isle apartment, and end up back at the store, where runners can reward their hard work with some cookies! Pets can also get in on the action at Pet Friendly Dog Bakery, where, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m., they will be selling special Valentine’s Day dog cookies, with a portion of all sales benefitting the Providence Animal Center.

And, of course, you can’t miss all of the special menus popping up all over town. Here are a few:

Bourbon Blue: The restaurant, two blocks from your The Isle apartment, is offering a grasshopper martini with a Thin Mint cookie rim as its specialty cocktail this February. On the food side, try the Girl Scout Cookie Cheesecake Parfait, featuring shortbread cookies, peanut butter patties and peanut butter sandwiches, all layered in a creamy vanilla cheesecake.

Lucky’s Last Chance: Head three blocks from your The Isle apartment to try Lucky’s special lemon-flavored dishes in honor of lemon cookies: challah French toast with lemon curd and blueberries, washed down with a lemonade infused with Stateside vodka, amaretto and champagne.
