A good way to sort through all of your options is to consider the new kids on the block. On Main Street, that would be U.S. Hotel Bar & Grill, three blocks from your The Isle apartment. Technically, the venue isn’t new—actually, it’s operated as a tavern for more than a century!—but the spot recently closed for renovations and opened earlier this year after a major facelift and under new ownership. So if you haven’t made the trip down Main Street yet to check it out, this is the time to do it!

The space pays tribute to its deep roots in Manayunk with all of the original wood, including on the bar, cabinets and doors, as well as floor tiles, telling its rich history. It’s a cozy spot with only seating for 40, so if you’re looking to keep your Thanksgiving Eve festivities more on the tame side, and want to spend the evening dining and drinking with close friends (where you can actually hear one another!), this is the place to do it.

The new American menu features loads of shareables, from cheese curds to wings to cheesesteak egg rolls—so you can satisfy your appetite without overindulging and ruining your appetite for the next day’s big meal. On the drink side, the bar features nine beers on draft, as well as an array of cans and bottles, many locally made, and a collection of American-made wines.
