The month of October brings lots of
exciting fall fun: sweater weather, pumpkin spice and firepit parties. One of
the best ways to welcome autumn near your The Isle apartment is at one of the
many fall festivals taking place in and around Philly this month. Some
emphasize fashion, others art and still others music—but most have one thing in
common: brews! Oktoberfest-themed events abound in the area this month,
offering you plenty of opportunities to enjoy some sudsy socializing in the
spectacular October weather.
If you’re looking for a fall festival
close to hom, check out Roxtoberfest on Oct. 5 in neighboring Roxborough. The
massive street festival is one of the city’s biggest and best Oktoberfest
celebrations, drawing hundreds to Ridge Avenue for a day of food, fun and
festivities—and it’s all just six blocks from your The Isle apartment.
The German spirit will be alive and
well throughout the festival, with German dancers and musicians, brew-themed
contests—like the popular stein-holding competition!—and an introduction to New
Ridge Brewing. Get a first taste of the brand-new Ridge Avenue brewery’s
concoctions before the venue officially opens later this fall. Bring along the
four-legged friends for this pup-friendly festival, and if you have little ones
in your life, they’ll love the kid-friendly games and activities throughout the
day. Stop by vendors set up throughout Ridge for one-of-a-kind artisans,
merchants and more. And of course, no fall festival would be complete without
the food—from German faves to local hot spots and everything in between.
Roxtoberfest is now in its seventh
year and has become one of Roxborough’s most beloved neighborhood traditions. And
since it’s just minutes away from your The Isle apartment, throw on your
favorite fall fashions, grab a warm drink from one of Manayunk’s Main Street
coffee shops and stroll on over to Roxborough for a day of fall fun in the sun.
