As Philadelphia is one of the nation’s oldest and most historic cities, it’s no wonder that it’s also Halloween central—a place whose history comes to life around us, making it a perfect spot to get into the spirit of the season. From lavish Halloween parties to ghost tours and everything in between, the possibilities for holiday excitement in Philly are endless. And thankfully, it’s not just Center City that gets in on the spooky fun—there’s plenty of haunted happenings right near your The Isle apartment!

         Clear your schedule for Oct. 26, as you can have a full day (and night!) of Halloween excitement right here in Manayunk. Whether you have little kiddos in your life, four-legged friends or just love revisiting the excitement of your youth, there’s loads to see and do. The festivities kick off at 10:30 a.m. at Pretzel Park, just one block from your The Isle apartment, where both kids and pets can take part in a costume parade. Dress your little one (two legs or four!) in their spookiest or most hilarious outfit to compete for bragging rights and some great prizes!

         Main Street will welcome Halloween a few days early from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. with trick-or-treating. More than three-dozen businesses will hang a pumpkin doorknob hanger on their front door to let passersby know that they’ve got the loot, so bring along the youngsters in your life to score a sugar rush! Pineapple on Main will offer free photography sessions for kids in costume throughout the day and, if it’s the furry ones you’re bringing along, stop into the Pet Friendly Dog Bakery on Main for a puppy Halloween party from 1-2 p.m.

         Drop the kids and dogs off at the sitter and head back to Main Street later that night for what’s sure to be a frighteningly good time! Main Street bars go all out the weekend before Halloween, with drink specials, costume parties, live music and much more.
