Where to See Fall Leaves in Manayunk

It might seem like summer hasn’t yet faded from Manayunk, but fall is right around the corner! Along with the pumpkin spice, fall festivals and sweaters, one of the other things autumn is known for is its beautiful foliage, which is in full supply near your The Isle apartment. Even though we’re in the middle of one of the nation’s biggest cities, Manayunk is a haven for lush, green spaces, which turn a range of beautiful hues as fall settles in.

If you don’t want to travel far from home to take in the sights of fall, consider a stroll over to the Manayunk Canal Towpath, directly outside your The Isle apartment. The Schuylkill River Canal cuts right through Manayunk and is bordered by a towpath that runs the length of the neighborhood—and is one of the most serene, secluded ways to spot fall foliage, all while enjoying sensational views of the canal.

The towpath is a favorite of runners, bikers and dog walkers looking for some exercise and those excursions are made all the more beautiful in the autumn, as it’s brimming with trees on both sides of the water. If you want a break from the treadmill, hit the path and have an exciting backdrop for your run that will keep you energized. And since the towpath is located below the hustle of Main Street, it’s also ideal if you want to just lounge and appreciate the turning leaves in a more leisurely way. Kick back along the benches or stone steps and lounge with a book, or bring along the good camera to capture the fleeting fall foliage in Manayunk.

So pick out your favorite fall scarf, grab some shades and stake out a spot along the water to welcome fall at the Manayunk Canal Towpath!
