Located about six blocks from your The Isle apartment, Palmer is a new craft distillery that set up shop right here in our neck of the woods. The distillery’s signature product is Liberty Gin, derived from a recipe dating to the American Revolution and updated for modern tastes. It hangs onto its Revolutionary roots though, as it’s even distilled over in an open flame in a traditional copper pot.

You can see the distilling process firsthand with a tour of the facility. If Dad’s the type who likes to see how things work, this spot is certainly for him! And of course, after your tour, stick around for a drink or two. The distillery offers free tastings of its gin in a wide variety of recipes—many of which mimic cocktails that would have been served during Revolutionary times—as well as a full bar of cocktails, beers and wines. You can also grab of bottle of Manayunk Moonshine, Palmer’s newest product, to take home—a great conversation starter at your The Isle apartment!
