Manayunk Arts Festival Celebrates 30 Years

June 20th, 2019
If you’re an arts lover, there are countless reasons to attend this year’s Manayunk Arts Festival—the opportunity to peruse hundreds of pieces of one-of-a-kind art, network with thousands of fellow arts enthusiasts and enjoy the sights and sounds (and tastes!) of Manayunk on a beautiful summer weekend. And when you add to that that this is the festival’s 30th anniversary, this is a not-to-be-missed event.
The festival will take place June 22nd and 23rd, stretching along nearly 12 blocks of Main Street—and running right outside of your The Isle apartment. While Main Street is known for its artsy vibe all year long, this is an exciting opportunity to have boundless arts opportunities literally steps from home. And since this is a two-day event, you have plenty of time to scout your favorites!
Manayunk Arts Festival is a juried event, meaning applicants are bringing along their best works to compete for top prizes (and bragging rights!). Hundreds of artists will exhibit and will be grouped into eight distinct categories: glass, fiber, photography, wood and sculpture, painting and drawing, jewelry, mixed media and emerging. The latter category will feature some up-and-coming, budding artists—offering you a unique opportunity to get your hands on pieces for less, all before these emerging artists hit the mainstream.
The range of art exhibited means that, no matter you’re looking for, you’ll likely find it at Manayunk Arts Festival. You can grab some new jewelry for yourself or your sweetheart, get a major jump on holiday gifts or pick up some new décor for your The Isle apartment. Even if you’re not looking to buy, strolling Main Street and perusing the works is a great way to harness your own inspiration. And as you walk, you can enjoy all that Main Street has to offer. The festival usually attracts about 200,000 visitors throughout the weekend, so bars, restaurants and shops will be rolling out the welcome mat, with sales and special menus.
So lather on the sunscreen and bask in the creativity that will be flowing through Main Street at the Manayunk Arts Festival!
