Where to Check Out Parks on Tap

May 2nd, 2019
Philly’s favorite traveling beer garden is back and better than ever—with lots of locations near your The Isle apartment!
Parks on Tap made its 2019 debut last month, and it will travel to dozens of Philly parks between now and September, bringing with it craft beer, gourmet food, games, live music and endless opportunities to soak up the sun alongside friends, old and new. There are plenty of comfy lounge chairs and hammocks, or you can bring along a blanket to curl up in the grass with your favorite brew and crew. The series is designed to introduce Philly residents and visitors to the city’s impressive network of public parks, with a portion of all proceeds from each event directly supporting that week’s park.
If you haven’t been to Parks on Tap before, don’t miss the chance to see what the buzz is all about! Here are just a few of the local stops on this year’s tour:
Historic Rittenhouse Town (May 1-5): Located within Wissahickon Valley Park, about 2.5 miles from your The Isle apartment, Historic Rittenhouse Town is one of four new additions to the 2019 Parks on Tap lineup. Dating to the 1600s, this small neighborhood in the park is home to a half-dozen historic farmsteads. At POT, tour the homes to learn about local history while supporting the ongoing maintenance and rehab of these historic gems.
Gorgas Park (7/31-8/4): Head over to our favorite next-door neighbor, Roxborough, for the return of Parks on Tap to community favorite Gorgas Park. Just over a mile from your The Isle apartment, Gorgas is a hub of community activity for both Manayunk and Roxborough residents—and Parks on Tap weekend will be no different!
McMichael Park (8/21-25): Venture to nearby East Falls for another new addition to the POT schedule, a beautiful six-acre green space in the heart of East Falls, just about 2.5 miles from your The Isle apartment. With wide canopies of trees, this is a perfect spot to escape the late-summer heat!
Pretzel Park (9/18-9/22): Just two blocks from your The Isle apartment, Pretzel Park is the place to be for Parks on Tap if you don’t want to travel too far from home! Bring along the pup to have some fun in the dog run, while you kick back with your favorite beverage. As the only POT stop directly in the heart of Manayunk, this event is sure to be brimming with neighbors and friends.
