The season for spring festivals is upon us! Luckily for residents of The Isle apartments, you’re surrounded by lots of local outdoor fun—from the StrEAT Food Festival to Manayunk Restaurant Week to the return of the weekly farmer’s market at Pretzel Park, there are plenty of reasons to stick around Manayunk this spring. Our next-door neighbor, Roxborough, is also getting in on the action with an annual arts event that should warrant a place on your spring schedule.

The popular Art is Life festival is set for April 27 along Ridge Avenue, less than a mile from your The Isle apartment. As its name suggests, the event features a focus on art—in all forms!

Dozens of local artists will showcase their goods, selling one-of-a-kind artwork, from paintings to clothing to jewelry. If you want to get a jump on your shopping for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, this is a great place to find a unique gift! (Or you can even treat yourself!) And when you make a purchase here, you can walk away knowing that you’re supporting the local arts community.

Beyond the vendors, the festival will feature hands-on opportunities to learn a new craft, as well as a whole host of games and family-friendly activities. (It’s also pooch-friendly so bring along your four-legged friend as well!) Snack on dishes from food trucks, local food vendors and Ridge Avenue businesses and raise a glass with locally crafted beers and wines. As art is the centerpiece of the event, live music is a must. Three main stages will feature rotating performances throughout the day, highlighting the neighborhood’s best up-and-coming and establishment entertainers.
