Main Street in Manayunk is the place to be this holiday season. From the brilliantly lit Christmas trees to the dazzling décor of the window displays at area businesses, it’s hard to take a stroll anywhere near your The Isle apartment and not feel the holiday spirit!

It especially abounds this month on Thursday evenings, as shops all along Main Street open their doors to holiday shoppers. Holiday Stroll returns through the end of December, with deals and steals for bargain hunters, as well as food and activities that aim to spread holiday cheer throughout Main Street and beyond. More than 50 businesses are participating, with stores offering discounts, free gifts and other specials, the perfect opportunity to finish off your holiday-shopping list. Each Thursday, the event celebrates a different theme, with events and activities to match in the stores and along Main Street, where food trucks will also be featured. Here’s the lineup for the remaining Holiday Stroll events:

Dec. 6: Secret Santa Night

Dec. 13: Men’s Shopping Night

Dec. 20: Dashing Through the Stores

Bars and restaurants get in on the fun with Merry, Merry Happy Hour, featuring specially priced items. Enjoy $5 cocktails at some of your favorite venues, including a few that are offering specialty holiday drinks like spiked hot cider, while others will also feature half-priced apps and other tasty food specials.

While you’re strolling the street, take in the dozens of impressively decorated Christmas trees along the avenue, each sponsored by a different business. Don’t forget to grab some canned goods or non-perishable items for your trip to deposit into one of the donation boxes, which, at the end of the month, will be distributed to locals in need.

The holidays in Manayunk are a festive and fun time, and Thursday nights will be the center of it all!
