If you haven’t gotten into the autumn spirit yet, that’s about to change, as one of the area’s biggest and best fall festivals is coming to our very own Pretzel Park this month.

Harvest Fest takes over the park, just one block from your The Isle apartment, on Sept. 29 where, all day long, you can enjoy outdoor fall activities for all ages (along with lots of adults-only fun!). If you have little ones in your crew, make sure they bring their creativity as they can carve pumpkins—guided by professional artists—and get their faces painted. Keep the creativity flowing by lending a hand to a community mural or, if you’re more athletic than artistic, start your day off with a fun run through Manayunk. Throughout the day, walk Main Street to judge the entrants in the Scarecrow Stroll, as businesses and community members go head to head to win the top prize for the best decorated scarecrow. All along Main Street, shops and restaurants will be featuring special Harvest Fest sales.

You can also get plenty of food and drink right at Pretzel Park. An array of food trucks will line the park, offering bites for diners of all tastes. The 21-plus crowd can also partake in a beer tent, featuring local brews, including lots of seasonal selections. Live music will set the scene throughout the day, with a new band taking the stage about every hour, offering a sampling of lots of different genres.

Fall festivals will take over the Philly events calendar in October, but Harvest Fest is one of the earliest—meaning it’s a great way to kick off the season! With activities for all ages and interests, it’s also a perfect opportunity to spend a (hopefully!) beautiful fall day out and about in Manayunk.
