August  has  arrived,  meaning  the  end  of  the  summer  will  shortly  follow,  a  bittersweet  time  for  lovers  of  fun  in  the  sun.  If  you’re  dreading  the  shorter  days,  the  cooler  weather  and  the departure  of  the  lazy,  leisurely  days  of  summer,  you’re  certainly  not  alone!  However,  there  are  still  a  few  short  weeks  where  we  can  embrace  all  that  summer  has  to  offer—and,  near  your  The Isle  apartment,  that’s  an  awful  lot!

Here  are  a  few  ways  to  squeeze  the  most  you  can  out  of  the  end  of  summer  2018:

Stroll the Street: Your last chance to “Stroll the Street” is Aug. 23. Every Thursday night this summer, shops along Main Street, right outside your The Isle apartment, have featured sidewalk sales and shopping events. Restaurants and bars have been serving up $6 cocktails and appetizers, and strollers can also hit up food trucks parked along Main Street. Each night has a different theme, with August’s lineup include: nature, open mic, campfire and “dinner and a movie.”

Roxborough Pocket Park First Friday: The new park in nearby Roxborough, one mile from your The Isle apartment, continues its monthly event series through September. Each month since the spring, the park features live music, a food truck and drinks from a local brewery. Head out for the fun on Aug. 3 and Sept. 7.

Parks on Tap: Hang onto summer as late as you can as Parks on Tap at Pretzel Park, just one block from your The Isle apartment. The traveling beer garden pops up at the Manayunk park Sept. 19-23 in the second-to-last event of the season. Enjoy craft beers, a range of gourmet meals and snacks and lawn games for one last summer hurrah. Whether you come during the day to soak in the last of the summer sun, or stop by in the evening to enjoy the ambiance of the lights strung through the trees, Parks on Tap is a perfect way to close out your summer.
