Manayunk is home to scores of shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment venues, all of whom help to make the neighborhood around your The Isle apartment the bustling, booming district that it is. With so many organizations that add to the community’s vibrancy, it’s hard to pick a favorite—but that’s just what locals did in an annual contest.

Every year, Manayunk Magazine asks readers to vote in the Best of Manayunk contest. The match-up features 55 different categories, giving voters the chance to weigh in on the best of the best when it comes to shopping, dining, playing, living and the wildcard: Reader’s Choice. Voting took place earlier this year, and the long-awaited results will be announced live at a reception March 15 at Bourbon Blue, one block from your The Isle apartment.

As partiers celebrate the winners, they can enjoy a two-hour open bar until 9 p.m. and food provided by the restaurants who took the top spots in the different food categories. Guests are encouraged to wear cocktail attire; pack the comfortable shoes, though, as guests often storm the dance floor once the awards are all presented.

Tickets are $48, and proceeds will benefit the Manayunk Beautification Program, an effort of the Manayunk Development Corporation to update and upgrade the public spaces in our neighborhood. The Best of Manayunk initiative is a great way to get out and about and rub shoulders with the community’s movers and shakers, all while giving back to a worthy cause.
