Manayunk may be filled with plenty of bakeries, sweet shops, ice cream parlors, and more, but that doesn’t mean we don’t get excited when Cookie Month comes around. February means Girl Scout Cookies go back on sale and we can smell the Thin Mints already. More than just the cookie sale though, the community goes above and beyond to make this special time a great experience for both Girl Scouts and the neighborhood.

Every Thursday night from 6 PM to 8 PM local troops will set up booths along Manayunk’s Main Street. Several different female-owned businesses will be hosting the Girl Scouts and teaching our future female leaders about entrepreneurship. That’s not all! Many of the neighborhood’s restaurants will be serving Cookie Month themed dishes and drinks. Love a cookie special? You can vote for it at different ballot locations throughout downtown.

Participating restaurants include Boostin Bowls, Chabaa Thai Bistro, Deke’s BBQ, Bourbon Blue, SOMO Manayunk, Lucky’s Last Chance, Tubby Robot, Yanako, and Sona Pub & Kitchen. Look out for weekly rotations at Deke’s or have a beer and cookie pairing at SOMO.
