Put Something Spicy in Your Belly: Celebrate With Local Fusion Restaurant for Their One Year Anniversary

The Isle’s neighborhood has an incredibly flourishing culinary scene. Restaurants, bars, and pop-ups are constantly opening and closing their doors with the changing needs and trends of the area’s inhabitants. We know keeping track of local dining options can be a tricky feat, so we completely understand if you haven’t had a chance to check out every spot that hit Manayunk and Wissahickon in the past year. That’s why we had to tell you about a new favorite in town that’s about to celebrate their one year anniversary. On January 12th, The Spicy Belly celebrates its first birthday and they are offering some great specials that we think you’ll enjoy.
The Spicy Belly is the neighborhood’s only restaurant offering a Jamaican Korean fusion menu. Head chef, Jimmy Mills, calls it an adventure in dining. Their cuisine offers a perfect blend of traditional flavors and preparation, but with a modern twist, that city dwellers will appreciate. Options are daring, eclectic, and very different from other menus you might find in Philadelphia. The bar prides itself on crafting signature cocktails that complement specific menu items, so be sure to ask your server about these pairings.
On January 12th, The Spicy Belly is hosting a special event to thank loyal customers and welcome newcomers who might not have tried their unique selection yet. Starting at 5 pm with a happy hour, specials include $1 sides of fries, $12 appetizer and drink combos, $18 dinner combos, and $18 bottles of wine. Visitors can enjoy live music performances from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. Even though the kitchen closes at 11 pm, you can enjoy drink deals until closing. To guarantee a table is available for your party, make a reservation ahead of time through their website.
