Celebrate the Holidays, Participate in Community, and Give Back This Month in Manayunk

The holiday season truly does mean something different to everyone, but one thing is pretty consistent across traditions: good times with great people. This is especially true in Manayunk. We can’t think of a better neighborhood around the city that’s as community oriented and inclusive. Every December this special local culture really shines. The holidays in Manayunk are here and we have got the scoop on all the best events residents of The Isle won’t want to miss.

We’re hoping most of you made it to the month’s kickoff and participated in Small Business Saturday or observed the tree lighting ceremony. Don’t worry if you missed it, there’s plenty more holiday cheer in store. The next big activity, on December 2nd, is the “Promenade of Trees” where residents can vote on their favorite Christmas trees downtown. Rumour has it there will be a visit from “Santa Paws” as well, so bring your furry friends to visit the big man himself.

On December 9th, get out of the house, give back, and get active. The “Rudolph Run” kicks off at 9 am and urges participants to donate canned goods as their entry fee.

The very next day, on December 10th, a brand new event called “Style Me Manayunk” will be a fun time for fashion and festive lovers alike.

If you’re looking for more ways to help out the community, be sure to bring food donations to Northern Light Community Center by December 17th. Volunteers and local restaurants will be putting together holiday meals for the elderly, they could always use some extra help.
