Who said Tuesday had to be just another boring weekday? Well, for residents of The Isle, Tuesday just became a lot more exciting. A new food series is coming to Manayunk’s neighboring community, Mt. Airy, and our stomachs are already rumbling from excitement. Every Tuesday in September you can check out Supper Sessions on the Avenue. You don’t want to miss this tasty and tempting event, save the dates: September 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th.

Supper Sessions on the Avenue will take place on the 7100 block of Germantown Avenue, which will be completely shut down from traffic between 5:30 and 11:00 pm. Get ready to see this classic Philadelphia road transformed into a palatable paradise of pop-up restaurants, bars, and businesses. Grab a table under the stars and indulge in the sights, sounds, and especially the enticing smells of this food-centric series. The block’s nine dining establishments will be moving their restaurants outdoors onto the trolley tracks for a dinner experience you won’t soon forget. There will even be special menus just for the Supper Sessions that local chefs are curating for the season and excited to unveil. The nine participating restaurants include Chef Ken’s Cafe, Cresheim Valley Grain Exchange, Earth Bread + Brewery, Golden Crust, The Juice Room, Jyoti, McMenamin’s Tavern, Mi Puebla, and Trattoria Moma, all beloved spots in the community.

It’s not just about cuisine. Beers will be available from the Trolley Car Diner at their “mobile can shop” and attendees can also purchase cocktails inside the Sedgwick Theater. The block’s other businesses, like Queenie’s Pets, Rothe Florists, Sandaga, Blacqskirt, Nuono Vintage, The Shop on the Ave, I Spy You Buy, and Vendors’ Boutique, will be open late for visitors to explore. There will also be plenty of live entertainment from local musicians, as well as performances from the local theater group. Craft and artisan vendors will be onsite for attendees to check out and don’t forget to stop by the tables of several community organizations to see how you can help. Feel free to bring the whole family, there will be activities for kids including story time every week at 5:30 pm.
