The Farmers Market Returns to Pretzel Park

Manayunk residents know the warm season doesn’t officially kick off until the local farmers market comes back to Pretzel Park. This celebrated destination is so close to The Isle, and our private bridge to Main Street makes walking there a breeze. The market officially returns on May 13th, and this year’s event is bigger than ever.

For 2017, the opening of the Pretzel Park Farmers Market coincides with Philly-wide #LoveYourPark week. Locals will be encouraged to join the effort of cleaning up the park for summer. This is a great way to give back to the community while supporting local businesses and farms at the same time. All are welcome, so bring some trash bags and help out.

The farmer’s market opens at 10 am and runs until 2 pm. It’s held every Saturday starting May 13th and runs until November. Visitors can expect ripe and juicy local produce, as well as other popular specialties. This year some of our favorites include Pasture Song Farm for dairy, The Chilly Banana for fruit-based desserts, and Bees and Buttercups for handmade jewelry. If you visit the Pretzel Park Farmers Market on a third Saturday of the month you can grab a drum from local personality, Joseph Tayoun, and participate in the drum circle.

Between the farmers market, #LoveYourPark week, dog-park, drum circle, and playground, there are so many reasons to visit Pretzel Park this May. It’s less than a five-minute walk from The Isle, so go explore.
