With springtime in the air and weather warming fast, we know residents of The Isle are looking for more reasons to leave their much beloved “island”. Earth Day is around the corner and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by visiting some of the local parks and immersing yourself in nature. It might not be known for it, but the Manayunk area has a lot of great spots for exploring the region’s greenery. Here’s a quick guide to parks, gardens, and green spaces near The Isle:

Pretzel Park- This little park in the heart of Manayunk is a long-standing local favorite. Pretzel Park is walking distance from The Isle and even has a fenced in dog park. Every May through September the park is home to the celebrated local farmer’s market.

Schuylkill River Trail- One of the region’s most popular walking trails is the Schuylkill River Trail, along the banks of the river. It runs right through Manayunk, and there is a nice stretch of the path nestled between Manayunk Canal, the river, and the railroad tracks. Start by historic Shawmont Station, this spot has lush plant life and great views.

Wissahickon Valley Park- Manayunk is just one of the many towns that border this massive park and nature preserve that both locals and visitors love.
